Dr. Arielle Walton

Veterinarian

Dr. Arielle Walton, a Nashville-based veterinarian originally from Atlanta, GA, graduated from the Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2012. During her studies, she discovered a passion for traditional Chinese veterinary medicine (TCVM), particularly acupuncture, and later became a certified veterinary acupuncturist at Chi University in 2012. In 2019, Dr. Walton launched House Paws Acupuncture, a mobile veterinary practice serving Nashville, where she integrates TCVM with conventional medicine to enhance patient outcomes.

To maintain a connection to her first passion of western veterinary medicine, she joined the Little Urban Vet team in 2021. Dr. Walton’s mission is to empower pet owners by educating them and helping them advocate for their pets’ well-being. She is also dedicated to promoting diversity within the field of veterinary medicine. Outside of her professional pursuits, Dr. Walton enjoys traveling with her husband, caring for their three beloved dogs, and exploring hobbies like beekeeping and plant-based medicine for her family.

Caitlyn

Veterinary Assistant

Ever since I was in 3rd grade I knew I wanted a career working with animals. This passion obviously followed me past my career, and into my house, where I currently live with a menagerie of animals including, 3 dogs, 3 cats, 2 chinchillas, and around 20+ reptiles and amphibians. In 2016 I graduated with my biology degree from Iowa State University and began looking for my dream job. I worked several different animal-related jobs throughout college, and after, until I began working as a veterinary assistant in Kansas City in 2018. I found it was the perfect fit, allowing me to combine my passion for animal care, science/research, and teaching all into one career. Upon moving to Tennessee, in December 2019, I wanted to find a clinic that shared my same views on treating animals and clients with love and respect. I began working for LUV clinic in October 2020 and believe I have found a wonderful work family, where we all share the same beliefs and goals.

Mya

Veterinary Assistant

Heyyy, I’m Mya! My animal family includes an energetic dog and a spunky guinea pig. My goal as a little girl was to help and love all of the animals that I could so I am determined to keep reaching that goal. I graduated in 2020 from Howard University with my B.S. in Biology and Chemistry ready to take the veterinary world by storm! As I moved back to Nashville late 2020, I began working in the veterinary field and I started working at LUV Clinic in 2022. There is nothing more rewarding than finding a work family with the same aspirations and beliefs as you. I am grateful for the family and love that I have here.

Shane

Veterinary Technician

Shane has been working in the animal field for over 15 years and is a total cat guy. He currently has 2 pets, a Domestic Mediumhair named Cheddar and a terrier mix named Rocky. After attending The Vet Tech Institute in Illinois, he found his passion for surgery and dentistry. Shane has worked alongside Dr Perkins at different hospitals since 2015 and has been with her since she opened LUV Clinic in 2020.

Zamara

Veterinary Technician

I’m Z, I graduated from the Veterinary Technician program at Vol- State and passed the VTNE in 2020. My passion for animals, medicine, and science is what led me to the Veterinary Field. I love utilizing Fear Free techniques every chance I get! Singing, dancing, and being the goofy energy at LUV is my specialty but outside of the clinic I’m usually making memories with my daughter and hanging with family and friends.
